Pond Island—The shallow beach

Pond Island is about two miles out, an easy sail or a moderately ambitious kayak trip. Even though it's close, and a public island (Sandy was in the forefront of the effort to buy it for the Audobon Society when it came up for sale 25 years ago), it's never crowded; frequently, even on a sunny day, you're the only visitors.
